Maggie Grace is an American actress who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most well-known roles are Shannon Rutherford, a character in ABC's Lost series as well as Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Her parents had divorced and she relocated with her mother into Los Angeles. Though she struggled financially in 2001, her debut came as Rachel's Room's main character. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is the modern-day interpretation that Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised Shannon's role as Shannon in Lost for two more episodes, which included the series final. The actress was featured in 2013's seventh season Californication. The role she plays is Faith as a girl who serves as a model for the stars and catches the attention to Hank Moody (David Duchovny). She's a Gyllenhaal, the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is older in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. Her acting career started as an early teenager, with small role in films made by her father. She also worked with her brother in the 2001 cult film Donnie Darko. The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind which was released in 2002 as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her performance as the lead actress in Secretary (2002) which is which is an erotic romantic drama as well as Sherrybaby (2006). She was also nominated by her fellow actors for the Golden Globe Award. Following several commercially-successful films, such as World Trade Center in 2006 her fame grew for her role as Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). In the film, her performance as Crazy Heart as a mother who is a single parent was nominated to an Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. One of her most recent roles were her character as the primary protagonist The Kindergarten Teacher The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal was the writer and director of her debut film The Lost Daughter in 2021. The thriller that dealt with psychological issues was awarded the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for The Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
